A never ever after

All this time, Staring to the light of happily ever after
A life of happiness, love and prosperity
You're eternal smile
Your love like a furnace
Never once did i take my eyes from this prize.
The world I had envisioned was truly magnanimous and grand

I gave my all in hope for this dream
This possibility? Was it ever though?
No it wasnt. It never was or could be.
I spent too much time painting a brick wall to look like a castle
Pretending that things were great.

Never once did i notice that the light i was looking at was only in my eyes
But I needed the light... Cause unbeknownst to me I was already in darkness.
